About

I live in Bristol in the heart of the West Country. I am working on other projects of historic fiction. I have also written for the regional newspaper. As well as my passion for writing, I pursue photography as an event and wedding photographer via Icarus Photography, which I run with my business partner Jon Cooper.

Iceni: The Year of Sacrifice. Was this man a priest?

The Year of Sacrifice is a gripping debut novel. The first of a trilogy telling the story of the Iceni Revolt

I was inspired by the discovery of the peat bog body known as Lindow Man, discovered in August 1984 near Wilmslow, Cheshire. The theories put forward by experts in the field are that this body may have been a sacrifice during early Roman Britain, perhaps a druid priest. A man close to Boudica herself, offered to the mother goddess, during the trauma of the Iceni Revolt against the power of Rome.

The world of the Iceni and druid priests, threatened by Roman imperialism.

Fundamental to the fate of Boudica and the Iceni?

Although my version is fictional, I would like to believe such a story may have happened.

I would encourage any reader to look into this dramatic episode to form their own opinions. Let me know your opinions of my interpretation and tell me yours, via my contact page.
